It’s raining outside today
Feels like a good time to sit down and play
Feels like a good time to find things to say
To the people who we play for.
It’s raining outside today
Feels like a good time to sit down and play
Feels like a good time to find things to say
And by that I don’t mean great words of wisdom
But maybe just a big feeling
Hey I’m having a good time today.

It’s raining outside today
How many songs do you know start off that way?
Maybe a couple of dozen I’d say but it really doesn’t matter
It’s raining outside today
Feels like a good time sit down and play
Feels like a good time to find things to say
And by that I don’t mean great pearls of wisdom
But maybe just a big feeling
Hey, I’m having a good time today.

I hope this rain drowns all the green fly on my rose.
Not that I’ve got anything against greenfly, if only they wouldn’t get my rose –
It really does extraordinary things for the nose you know.

And I hope this rain really gets stuck right into the seeds in my veggie patch
And makes them come popping out of the ground with a veggie seeds popping out of the ground sound - just cause you can’t hear it doesn’t mean there isn’t one!

Or this –

Go to the front door. Open it. Take off all your clothes.
Step outside – right outside - and you’re standing in a deluge from the sky – water - the stuff we’re made of – pouring through your hair – –down your face your lips – you can taste it – down your neck, chest,  your back, running down your legs squishing toes into the grass…

The weatherman says “there’s a low-pressure system in the east and a cold front moving up from the south causing chaos on the coast!!”

I guess they never get to sing

(Repeat first verse)
